Having progress invoicing is vital for getting paid incrementally during longer projects rather than waiting until the finish. I see that the lack of this feature may have disrupted your workflow and getting paid as scheduled. Let me share some alternate methods to help you use the progress invoicing feature.
Currently, we don't have a workaround to do progress invoicing in the New experience. To use the feature again, you'll want to open the invoice and select the Old Layout option to go back to the Classic experience.
By doing so, you'll regain access to the previously unavailable features on the old version of estimates and invoices. However, it's important to keep in mind that once you switch back to the Classic layout, you won't be able to return to the New experience.
If you no longer see the Old layout option, you may want to utilize a third-party application that allows you to make progress invoicing. Let's go to the QuickBooks Apps Center to look for one. Simply enter a keyword in the Search field and open each recommended program for a better comparison.

Estimates & Progress Invoicing
When used correctly, estimates are the initial agreement with the customer regarding the "Scope of Project".
The estimate once accepted by the client reflects the contractor/merchants understanding of the products & services requested and pricing either estimated or firm. Recommended have the client "sign off" on the estimate with a digital paper trail (emails are great for this).
If Progress Invoicing has been turned on in Advanced settings, once an estimate is converted to an invoice, QB will give you 3 choices:
This is a perfect way to track the "Progress" of the initial scope of the project and the progress of the billing to the client.
