Attempting to create a statement for each of our donors this year. Our small nonprofit only has about a dozen donors (thus far), but each one shows a balance of 0.00. I have entered each donation as received since January; in the chart of accounts our Individual Donations account does list each of these for the whole year, but none of these amounts show up in the individual donor accounts.
Is it possible that I set up these accounts incorrectly?
thank you
Welcome to the Community, @ccpl2.
I'm here to help you with assistance as to why your donor accounts show zero balance in QuickBooks Online.
Several reasons could result in donor accounts showing a zero balance in QuickBooks Online. Here are some possible reasons to consider:
1. Transactions Not Posted: It's possible that transactions related to donations have not been properly recorded or posted to the donor accounts. Check if all the income transactions, such as donations or contributions, have been accurately entered.
2. Misclassified Transactions: Double-check if donations have been accurately categorized or classified in QuickBooks Online. If transactions are misclassified, they might not be reflected correctly in the donor accounts.
3. Reversed Transactions: If there were any reversals, refunds, or voided transactions related to donations, they could impact the balance of the donor accounts. Verify if any such transactions have occurred and their effect on the donor account balances.
4. Data Entry Errors: Mistakes in data entry, such as entering incorrect amounts or posting transactions to the wrong donor accounts, can lead to discrepancies in the donor account balances.
To address the issue, carefully review the transactions related to the donor accounts, correct any misclassified transactions, and ensure all donations are accurately recorded. If necessary, seek the assistance of a QuickBooks expert to help identify and rectify the root cause of the zero balances in the donor accounts.
If it works, I recommend clearing your browser's cache. Doing so will remove the historical data and access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also switch to a different supported browser.

Instead, to create proper statements, use our BRC Donor Statements - QB Online.
I have the same issue, and I'm pretty sure the booking was done correctly. But still balances are Zero.
When I run a report for donors by activities I see the transactions. But in donors account it's Zero.

Account balances for customers/donors will be 0.00 unless they have an Accounts Receivable balance (that's what the balance is). To create an Accounts Receivable balance you must record Accounts Receivable transactions including Invoices, Credit Memos, and Payments on account.
Sales receipts, for example, don't create an Accounts Receivable balance, nor do donations recorded on deposits.
