Download of QBSE Data for use in Turbo Tax installed on my computer? How to?

I can help you export your data to TurboTax, nexus999.

We'll have to finish the tax checklist first before sending tax info from QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) to Turbo Tax.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  2. From the Home page, select the Tax checklist menu next to the Gear icon.
  3. Select a task on the list. This takes you to the task so you can finish reviewing your data.
  4. Finish the tasks on the tax checklist.

After you finish the tax checklist, follow the instructions below:

  1. Select Download reports and save them to your computer. You may need this info to check certain areas in TurboTax.
  2. Select Send to TurboTax.
  3. Review your TurboTax sign-in info. Make sure the email address is the one you use for TurboTax Self-Employed. If it's not, select the link to learn more.
  4. When you're ready, select Send to TurboTax.

Once done, open this article and proceed to Step 3How do I send my tax info.

You can bookmark the following links for future reference. These resources provide an overview of how to export QBSE data to Turbo Tax and links to the tasks you can do using the program.

Don't hesitate to leave a message below if you have additional questions. I'm always ready to lend a helping hand. Have a great day ahead.

This isn't helpful to me. I have a copy of Turbotax installed on my PC and it is asking me for specific file types to import data. There doesn't appear to be any way to export the data in those file types in QBSE. And the transfer to Turbo Tax option looks to just be for the cloud version of Turbo Tax. What is the process to export data in a format that can be imported into a locally installed version of Turbo Tax. If you can show me how to export into something other than a PDF or a XLS it would be very helpful. I would guess this is a very common issue people face with the 2 software products.

Thanks for getting back to this thread, @nexus999

Since you're using TurboTax Home & Business, you'll need to manually export tax reports. Get your federal quarterly tax estimates, here's what you need to do:

  1. Select the Taxes menu.
  2. Choose the Quarterly tab.
  3. Click the quarter you need estimates for.

QuickBooks summarizes the estimated amount and due date here. It updates these calculations each time you categorize income and expense transactions.

You can also review this article for more insights: Get quarterly and annual tax info from QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Additionally, you can email your accountant copies of your reports.

Fill me in if you have other questions about exporting data in QuickBooks. I'll be happy to help you. Stay safe!
