Report showing all unbilled time by customer

I recently switched from Desktop to online version.  I used to be able to run a report - Time by job detail and filter out for unbilled time which I used to make sure the time entries were correct when generating invoices.

In QB Online I can run a time activities by customer detail report, but I am unable to filter out billed and unbilled time activities.  It only lets me filter out billable or non billable time.

I have some clients that may have a small amount of time one month and larger the next so I may hold the time from one month and add it to the next month.  I need to be able to see what is outstanding billable time by customer.

thanks

Report showing all unbilled time by customer

Good day, mary.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. Let me help you pull up the report for your billed and unbilled time activities.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), we only have the Billable and Non-Billable filters on the report. However, you can pull up the Unbilled Time report and compare it to the Time Activities by Customer Detail report. The Unbilled Time report lists products/services (time activities) provided by your employees that have not yet been billed.

Let me show you how:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Enter Unbilled Time in the search box.
  3. Set the date range under Time Activity Date.
  4. Click Run report.

Since QBO is different from QuickBooks Desktop, I'd suggest sending this as a suggestion to our Product Development Team through your feedback feature.

Here's how you do it:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Feedback.
  3. Enter your request/product suggestion, then click Next.
  4. Click Skip and send message.
  5. Select Feedback as the Category.

Keep me posted if you have any additional questions. Wishing you continued success.

Report showing all unbilled time by customer

Hi Beths,

I'd like to clarify what @JaneD's post is referring to. The report is called Uninvoiced time.

Here's how to get there:

  1. Click Reports.
  2. Type "Uninvoiced time" in the Find report by name field.
  3. Edit the date range in the Time Activity Date drop-down.
  4. Click Run report.

Get back to me if you need anything else. I'll be here to help you.
