Buy nowI need to edit a completed reconciliation report. I put in the incorrect ending statement date. How do I do this?
I don't think you can, really, change the report.
In this case it doesn't seem necessary.
I understand that sometimes adjustments may be needed even after completing a reconciliation. @LauraOAK. I'm here to guide and provide information, including resources to update your ending statement date.
Before that, please know that every time you finish reconciling, QuickBooks Online automatically generates a report for that session. Thus, changing certain details isn't possible. You’ll want to undo and redo the reconciliation process to change or correct your ending statement date.
You can invite your accountant to perform it at once. Then, share the following steps below to undo your reconciliation:
After, you can start the reconciliation process again by clicking on the Resume reconciling button. Make sure the correct ending date is entered. Once finished, review the report and ensure it reflects the right information.
If you're looking for resources on printing, exporting, and accessing adjustment entries, there are several options available to you:
Moreover, if you need any further assistance or have additional questions regarding reconciliation, I'm here to help. Feel free to ask anything related to the topic, and I'll do my best to provide you with the information you need.
There is no UNDO button or option....
The Undo reconciliation button is only available for the QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBO) version, CntryPetPlygrnd. Since you're using QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can invite your accountant to accomplish this for you. I'll guide you on how to do the process below.
Accountant users have additional privileges that let them undo entire reconciliations, reclassify transactions, review your books, and make corrections on your account. To invite them, here's how:
Once your accountant accepted your request, let then undo your reconciliation. You can have them follow the steps below to complete the process:
Immediately after that, start the reconciliation process again by clicking on the Resume reconciling button.
On the other hand, in case you prefer to unreconcile individual transactions from a completed reconciliation, please see this article: Undo or remove transactions from reconciliations in QuickBooks Online.
Also, QBO automatically generates a reconciliation report after reconciliation. If you wish to view, print, and export one for recording purposes, feel free to check out this article: How do I view, print, or export a reconciliation report?.
You can always post again here if you have other reconciliation concerns. I'll be here ready to assist you.
This is inefficient and not practical in real life - clients do not want to pay accountant/CPA fees to have them undo & redo a reconciliation and nor do accountants/CPA's want to do that. I understand this is the only solution provided by 'QB Online', which is one of many reasons why 'QB Desktop' is a superior product. You could improve this by providing a reconciliation change report just like the 'QB Desktop' version does.
I completely agree, this is unreal that we are not able to undo a past reconciliation like we were able to do with the desktop version. This is yet another reason why QuickBooks Online is so frustrating.
