How can I create a new Project for an existing customer using the QuickBooks mobile app?

Welcome to the Community, @bbsmith74.

Allow me to share with you some information on how you'll be able to create a new project for an existing customer in QuickBooks Online mobile app.

Currently, the option to create a project using your QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile app isn't yet available. This is because it's a simplified version of the actual QuickBooks Online software. Hence there are some limitations when using it.

You may read this article to learn more about the comparisons of QBO mobile app features on different supported devices: What are the comparisons for mobile app features?.

As a workaround, you can log in to your QBO account using a web browser on your device. Then create a project from there. I'll guide you on how to do it:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Projects menu then click New Project.
  3. Give your project a name.
  4. Choose existing customers you’re working for from the drop-down menu.
  5. You can add any notes or details about the project.
  6. Hit Save to confirm.

For more details about the process, please refer to this article: How can I set up and create projects in QBO?.

Also, I want to make sure you're on the right track with your reports. Thus, I'll be adding this article in case you'll want to know more on how to customize your reports in QuickBooks Online to get personalized details for your reports: How can I customize my report in QuickBooks Online?.

Fill me in if you have more questions about managing your projects in QuickBooks Online. I'd be glad to help you achieve your goals. Best regards and stay safe, @bbsmith74.

How can I create a new Project for an existing customer using the QuickBooks mobile app?

On 08/31/2022 I received an email saying that QBO was raising prices.  If you can't get this very simple feature on your phone app then you should not be charging more money.  Having to drive back to my office to add a project is a waste of time and money.  Get it done QB.
