To begin, make sure to turn on the Time tracking feature in the Accounts and Settings. Doing this will add the service field to the Timesheet.

Then, go back to the Projects menu, and proceed to the following steps for the Service dropdown menu to appear on the Time entry details page.
If the issue persists, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this. There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, which causes some errors or unusual responses. Let's start accessing your account using a different or a private browser.
Once you have successfully edit the service type, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This is done to speed up the process next time you do a transaction in QuickBooks Online. Also, an alternative way is to use other compatible browsers.

Editing the service item assigned to a project won't update the associated invoice. To help you change it, please refer to these steps:

QBO makes it easy to keep track of the costs associated with various parts of your projects. You can see your labor costs based on your actual payroll expenses utilizing this method.

Thanks @DivinaMercy_N for the quick reply... thats pretty much what I've tried. The only difference is that I don't have any service options on the "Time entry details" page.... and maybe that's the problem as it doesn't launch "time activity page" it lunches "Time entry details".
