In QuickBooks Online (QBO), we can set up Autopay for recurring invoices. This way your customers want to pay you quickly and easily every month. The fees for Autopay are the same as for any payments made through QuickBooks Payments. To enable Autopay, you’ll need a QuickBooks Payments account. The Autopay feature is available on pay-enabled recurring invoices. If you don't have invoices set up for recurring, just follow the steps below:
If you already have a recurring invoice setup, you don’t need to create a new one. Autopay is available for your customer if they use the payment methods you’ve selected on your invoice. Autopay works for both card and ACH transactions. Then, follow Step 2 in this article to finish the process: Set up Autopay for recurring invoices in QuickBooks Online.
I've additionally included a detailed resource about working with recurring payments that may come in handy moving forward: Recurring Credit Card Payment FAQs.
Let me know if you have other concerns about managing invoices or payments. I'm always around to help.
Thank you for your timely response. Unfortunately Quickbooks Online's autopayment with recurring invoices will not work because of my other requirement - one product quantity (and therefore amount) has to change each month. That kills the autopay and the customer has to be bothered every month.
Thanks for timely response!
I don't think I can use QuickBook Online's recurring invoices with autopay because of my second requirement "but one product's quantity (and therefore amount) will change every month". Right? Any other suggestions?
Thanks for coming back here and sharing your thoughts with us, @perry-gard-halcy.
I'm joining the thread to share additional help with this feature you're looking for. At the moment, the online payment processing in QuickBooks will only affect balances and not the quantities.
You'll have to invoice the client for the quantity they need to pay for a certain period if you want the product count to be correct. This is the only way we can do it in QuickBooks.
You can go to this link to look for online invoicing apps: QBO Apps. Change the country flag to US to update the apps available for your country.
Please come back here if you need further assistance with your invoice processing. I'll do my best to share the information you need to know. All the best.
