Learn how to set up recurring credit card Payments for QuickBooks Online.

You can set up recurring payments and set up autopay for recurring invoices so you don't have to keep track of your customer's payment info.

When charges are processed

Recurring charges process automatically in the early morning. Daily charges start after 12:00 AM PT and may take several hours to complete.

Can't schedule a recurring payment to start on the same day as set up

Recurring charges are processed once a day, a little after midnight PT. When you set up a recurring payment, it won't be processed the same day. The earliest it can start is the next day.

When funds are deposited into your account

Recurring payments get deposited in your bank account within a few business days. The time of funding is the same as your other merchant account transactions.

What your customer sees on their credit card statement

Each time there’s a recurring charge, the transaction appears on your customer's credit card statement. The charge description your customer sees is the same description that appears for all your merchant account transactions.

Different times you can charge your customer

You can charge your customer at different times;

  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly
  • Yearly

Example, you can charge your customer every 4 days or the 2nd Tuesday of every other month.

Change recurring payment notification email

All customer notifications for recurring payments go to the address in the Customer info section's email field. We send your copy to the email linked to your merchant account.
