How can I set my invoice to automatically upcharge parts. Mechanic shop

Greetings, @chrispro-madhatt.

Welcome, and thanks for reaching out to the Community. I'm here to share information about adding upcharge/surcharge on invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Currently, the option to automatically add upcharges/surcharges on invoices is unavailable. You'll need to add them manually as a line item.

To do this, you need to create a service fee item first. Here's how:

  1. In QBO, go to the Sales menu and select the Products and services tab.
  2. Click New, then choose Service.
  3. Give the fee a name.
  4. From the Category ▼ drop-down, select the category that best describes the fee.
  5. Fill out the rest of the fields as needed.
  6. Once done, hit Save and close.

After that, you can now add it as a line item when creating an invoice. To learn more about this, consider checking out this article: Add service fees manually to invoices.

You also have the option to automatically charge late fees for overdue invoices. You don't need to add them manually. Please refer to this article for further guidance: Set up and apply automatic late fees to invoices.

For tips and other resources, you may visit our website for future reference: QBO self-help articles.

I'm only a post away if you have additional questions about invoices or anything else. I'll be here ready to help. Take care and have a good one.

Thats insane. It would take me hours every week just to bill out customers. I guess quickbooks is not for me.
