Hi there, @blackgatita.
I know a fix that can help you with your concern about using your non-inventory item.
The accumulation of cache and cookies in the browser is the most common cause of unexpected behavior. You can access your QuickBooks account on a private or incognito window to rule out this possibility. Site data, cache, and cookies are not saved in this mode. Check out the following shortcut keys:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + P for Firefox
- Press Ctrl + Shift + N for Chrome
- Press Command + Shift + N for Safari
Once done, click the + New button then create an invoice. If you're able to enter the non-inventory item without any issues, close the incognito window then go back to your normal browser. After that, you'll have to clear the cache to remove the accumulated junk files and improve the program performance.
Alternatively, you can also switch to other supported browsers to further isolate the issue.
If the above steps didn't work, I recommend checking that the item hasn't accidentally been made inactive. In some cases, we have seen users who have accidentally marked an item as inactive and posed the same concerns about not being able to enter them into sales receipts. I've included some steps below to check that the item isn't inactive.
- Go to the Sales menu on the left panel.
- Choose the Product and Services tab.
- Select the Inactive on the Funnel icon drop-down list.
- Tap the Apply button.
- Search for your item. If you see the item, hit the Make active button.
Additionally, here's an article that you can read to help easily manage and track your sales receipts and invoices: View sales transactions.
