How do I get a new version of estimates?

You can customize the estimate to get a newer version, @userkevin.

By going to the Gear icon and choosing Custom form styles, you can select a design, add some customization and details to create a new estimate version.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon ⚙ on the top right.
  2. Choose Custom form styles.
  3. Click the drop-down arrow beside New style.
  4. Select Estimate.

  5. Choose Design to select a template, Content to include details and custom fields, and Emails to personalize customer messaging.
  6. Hit Done.

Once done, you can use this as your default estimate template version. You can check this screenshot for visual reference:

How do I get a new version of estimates?

I do not want to use the templates provided.  I am trying to create my own.  The web is directing  me to QuickBooks Labs where I am supposed to be able to be able to turn on custom form styles, but it is not to be found.  Has it been removed?  Do I need yet another upgrade?

How do I get a new version of estimates?

I appreciate you for getting back, @userkevin. I can share with you some additional information about importing estimate template to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

As of 06/29/2021, the Import Styles feature inside of QuickBooks Labs was disabled for newly created companies. Any existing QBO companies who enabled this feature before the said date are currently not affected and will continue to have access. However, there are plans to completely remove this from all QBO companies in the future.

If you're using a new QBO account of QuickBooks, I'd recommend checking out for a third-party application to help import your templates. On the other hand, if the option is enabled before and it had stopped working,  you can perform the basic troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue.

You can use either of these keyboard shortcuts to save you time:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P

If it works fine, go back to your original browser and clear its cache to start fresh. You can also use another supported and up-to-date browser to narrow down the result.
