How do I include a payment link in the email for imported invoices? It works as expected with manually created invoices but not imported invoices

Let me help with your question about the payment options for imported transactions, randy-kanai-gmai.

.

Can you also tell us what app you're using to import the invoices? For now, there's no option within QBO that would automatically turn on the online payment option for imported invoices.

I'd suggest reaching out to the app you're using to import the invoices. They can check if there are any settings on their program that would add the link on imported invoices. Then, follow these steps on how to add a payment link:

  1. Open the invoice one at a time.
  2. Click the Edit link beside Online payments
  3. Check the box or boxes for the payment method that will be used for receiving payments.
  4. Click OK

You'll also want to check out these articles for additional guidance and reference when receiving online payments:

How do I include a payment link in the email for imported invoices? It works as expected with manually created invoices but not imported invoices

Thank you for the info.

I am using the "import invoices" function in QBO to Import all the invoice information via a csv file - no outside app is being used.  Sounds like you are saying the import invoice function in QBO has no way of flagging the invoice/email with a payment link other than to manually edit each invoice as you have suggested.

I will be loading/importing 60 invoices at a time multiple times a month and it seems my only option is to manually edit each invoice before sending via email until QBO add the function to set the invoice to include a payment link via the import process.

@randy-kanai-gmai

You may prepare the Invoice data with the payment options with the following template

RefNumberCustomerTxnDateDueDateShipDateShipMethodNameTrackingNumSalesTermLocationClassBillAddrLine1BillAddrLine2BillAddrLine3BillAddrLine4BillAddrCityBillAddrStateBillAddrPostalCodeBillAddrCountryShipAddrLine1ShipAddrLine2ShipAddrLine3ShipAddrLine4ShipAddrCityShipAddrStateShipAddrPostalCodeShipAddrCountryPrivateNoteMsgBillEmailBillEmailCcBillEmailBccCurrencyExchangeRateDepositToBePrintedToBeEmailedAllowIPNPaymentAllowOnlineCreditCardPaymentAllowOnlineACHPaymentShipAmtShipItemDiscountAmtDiscountRateTaxRateTaxAmtDiscountTaxableLineServiceDateLineItemLineDescLineQtyLineUnitPriceLineAmountLineClassLineTaxable

How do I include a payment link in the email for imported invoices? It works as expected with manually created invoices but not imported invoices

Was there ever a solution to this question utilizing the QBO CSV template?  Seems really odd/bad that there is no field to tell an imported invoice to allow a bank or credit card payment.  Especially when the imported file overrides the global setting to allow such payments.  Ideally, the imported file would just follow the global setting, but obviously it doesn't do that.
