How do I look up a check number that a customer said they sent me.

I record all checks I receive by check number. How do I look up to find any specific check number?

Hi @lsfenny1318,

You can search for transactions by clicking on the Magnifying glass icon in QuickBooks Online (QBO). From there, you're able to narrow down and adjust filters to find the type of data you want.

  1. Go to the Magnifying glass icon.
  2. Type in the check number.
  3. Press the Enter key.

The system quickly displays the list of checks that match the number you enter.

You can also check out this article for more information about searching transactions in QBO.

You might also want to find the check payment by going to your register. Here's an article that will walk you through the steps: Find a transaction in the Register.
