How do I recover an accidentally deleted vendor

Hi there, info940.

To recover an accidentally deleted vendor, I suggest using the Audit Log. This way, you'll see the details needed to reinstate the deleted vendor. Then, manually re-enter their information and transactions.

To access the Audit Log:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Tools, select Audit Log.
  3. Choose the Filter drop-down menu.
  4. Use the fields on the Filter panel to choose the appropriate User, Date, or Events filter to narrow the results.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Locate the vendor and click the View link under the History column.
  7. From there, you'll see the vendor's information and their transactions.

For additional information, you can check this article: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online. This also provides information about the other benefits of the Audit Log.

Once done, you can now re-enter the vendor information so this will add again to your list. For more details about how to keep track of the vendors you work with, you can refer to this article: Vendors overview.

You can also open this article to see steps on how to run a report that shows all payments made to vendors:  Run a report with vendor totals.

Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns. Wishing you and your business continued success.
