How do I remove my QuickBooks checking account as the default?

You can update your direct deposit account for QuickBooks Payments from the Account and settings screen.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to your books with a web browser.
  2. Use the Gear () icon, then go to Account and settings.
    Access your Payments tab.
  3. From the Deposits section, next to Standard deposits, click Change bank.
  4. Hit Add new bank account.
  5. Enter your routing and account numbers for the bank account you want to change to.
  6. Select Save.
  7. Review your account information and confirm it's selected.

 

If you change the direct deposit account after 3 PM PST, Intuit will start using your new account the following business day. In the event you've already processed payments prior to 3 PM PST that day, they'll be deposited into your old account.
