Thanks for reaching out to the Community, Losangeles.

I understand that you want to have this feature to meet your business needs. You may consider sending a request about the option you want in the system. Let me show you how:

  1. Select the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Click Next to submit feedback.

Your valuable suggestions go to our Product Development team to help improve your experience in QuickBooks. You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

Also, I've added some resources for an additional guide about customization and importing sales forms in QBO:

Don't hesitate to add a comment below if you have any other questions about forms and invoices. I'll be sure to get back to you @Losangeles.

Hello there, @cts79.

It seems that you've posted a similar concern twice, and my colleague already answered the other one. Just in case you haven't been notified of the new response, here's the link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/reports-and-accounting/re-dynamic-message-on-recur...

If you have other QuickBooks-related concerns, feel free to get back and comment on them below. I'll be happy to answer them for you.

How has this not been implemented yet? This is an absolute basic feature that should have been available from day 1.

Can you please stop updating the front end menus which serves no actual purpose other than to annoy people, and start adding some basic functionality!

I often see people mention that the use of a 3rd party app is required to do this, but does such a thing actually exist? If there is an app, or an automated solution to this, can you please advise me of it!

@CH360

What kind of business do you run? SaaS or else?

Just a small business selling products and services that require date elements. Eg:

Monthly Support Contract - February

or

Microsoft 365 Business Standard - 21st February -> 20th March

Currently I have to put things like:

Monthly Support Contract - Current Month

or

Microsoft 365 Business Standard - 21st this month -> 20th next month

So unprofessional, but I have too many invoices to be doing this manually.
I used to process my invoice run using Excel and it was way better than this!

I absolutely cannot believe that this feature has not been implemented yet - it is surely one of the most basic things there is!!

I hear your sentiments, CH360.

I can see how convenient it is to add a monthly variable for recurring invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I also understand that you want to make changes and improvements to QBO to meet your business needs.

Rest assured that I'll relay this message to our team in concern here on my end and add your vote for this one. Our product development team reviews all the feedback we receive to ensure we're meeting the needs of our customers. Here's how you can also share your thoughts and ideas through your QBO account:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Type in your feedback and product suggestions.
  4. Click Next to submit them.

Regarding using a third-party application, we cannot suggest an alternative specific software you can use for your invoices. I suggest visiting this website where you can look for an application that will aid your business needs: QuickBooks App Center. Otherwise, you can look for third-party software outside the QuickBooks program if you need to.

Please don't hesitate to reply to this thread if you have any other questions regarding managing your invoices in QBO. I'll be here to lend a helping hand. Stay safe!

@CH360

You can use a billing management app to integrate with QBO. The downside is you can't use QB Payment any longer to accept payments.

You all have been saying the same thing and suggesting the same course of action for the last 3+ years now: 'suggest the feature to our team using this link', and 'use a 3rd party app to get the job done'. You and the rest of the QuickBooks team do realize how asinine this is, yes?

That would be like Microsoft saying 'while we appreciate your using our Microsoft 365 platform for all of your office suite and email needs, and while you can use our solution to correspond with customers and clients, you will not be able to reply-to-all using our email program; you will have to use a 3rd party app to reply-to-all. We understand how important this feature might be to you, so here's a link to suggest this feature to our development team. Good luck

That reads pretty silly, wouldn't you say?

Come on QBO, do better...

@4Gal

You should refrain from posting in these particular thread topics. The only viewpoint you bring to the table is '3rd party apps or abandon QBO all together'. Others here are pushing QBO for positive, LONG overdue, change, and your input, in both threads, accomplishes nothing.

@cts79

You have to be more pragmatic to understand how they work. The ugly truth is that they don't care about your input as an end user. It wouldn't surprise me if their top advisors and influencers are ProAdvisors. That's why you can't import JE without third-party tools. The Sales Order feature is more requested than the monthly description, but there is still no roadmap.
