Before proceeding, please note that once you edit your customer's information, the changes will be reflected in other areas of your company file including previously sent invoices. 

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Sales menu and then Customers.
  2. Choose and click the customer's name you need to update the information.
  3. Select Edit.
  4. Update the address.
  5. Once done, click on Save.

Your answer was very helpful.  I did not know I had to look under "Sales" to find the customer list.

I need to edit a client's company name we have misspelled. I can edit all of the other client information but QB online will not allow me to change/edit the Company name. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

I can help you with that, Michael.

 

I understand how important it is for you to have the correct company name for your client to keep track of their business. If they are part of your ProAdvisor Preferred Pricing Plan, you can update their information in your client list. I'll show you how.

 

  1. Sign in to your QBOA account.
  2. Go to the Clients menu.
  3. Locate the appropriate client, then click Edit client from the Action column.
  4. Change the business name, then hit Save.

 

On the other hand, you must log in as the Primary or Company Admin if you log in using your client's QuickBooks Online account.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon and choose Accounts and Settings.
  2. Select Company and click the Edit pencil icon from the Company Name section.
  3. Edit the name.
  4. Hit Save, then Done.
