How do you duplicate an estimate?

Creating a duplicate estimate is simple and easy, @george-georgethe. Let me guide you through the process.

If you have a customer with a repeat estimate, you can create a duplicate instead of entering all the information again. Here's how:

  1. Go to Sales then select All Sales.
  2. Filter the transaction type to Estimates
  3. Find the estimate you want to copy.
  4. In the Action column, click the dropdown ▼. Then choose Duplicate

  5. Edit the estimate as needed, then tap Save.

Furthermore, if the customer requires the same estimate regularly, it would be best to set up recurring transactions instead.

I'm all ears if you have further questions about duplicating an estimate in QuickBooks. Simply leave a reply and I'll provide the necessary help.

How do you duplicate an estimate?

What you suggested doesn't work in the new version of QB online.  Is there a workaround?  I was thinking I could edit an existing estimate, manually give it a new number and save as new, however this only replaces the previous estimate.  Very frustrating!

How do you duplicate an estimate?

I'll share another method to duplicate your estimate while allowing you to make modifications, @Hardwork1.

The instructions suggested above are for the old layout. That's why you're unable to follow through. In the new version of QuickBooks Online, we can open your estimate and reproduce the template there.

Here's how:

  1. Locate the estimate you'd like to duplicate.
  2. Select Edit or View/Edit from the arrow dropdown.
  3. At the right window of the Estimate page, click the Actions dropdown and choose Make a copy. If it's not visible, press the small Gear icon beside Manage.
  4. Input your preferred Estimate no.
  5. Tap Save.

Once done, check out this guide to link the estimate into an invoice: Convert an estimate into an invoice in QuickBooks Online.

I hope this helps your navigation in the new interface easier. Fill me in if you have other estimates or sales concerns. I'll get back to you.
