Let me help you turn down the volume, Tboudre71.

The sound when scanning or capturing receipts comes from your device. You'll have to turn off or adjust the setting to lower the volume.

Aside from adjusting the volume, you can also turn off the shutter sound from your camera settings. Here's how:

  1. Go to your phone's main menu, then select the Camera icon.
  2. Click the camera settings or the Gear icon in the upper right corner of the app.
  3. Look for Shutter sound or Camera sound, then turn off the option.

Just a friendly reminder that the interface is dependent on your phone model and OS version.

If you have additional questions, please leave a comment below. We'll get back to you as soon as we can.

It's not the camera sound.   That is turned off on my phone.  It's the sound when the app frames the receipt.  It didn't used to be that loud, but I can't find anything to regulate the volume.

Hello @tboudre71,

Currently, we have an on-going investigation where users, like you, are unable to turn down the shutter when scanning receipts.

Rest assured that we have already informed our engineering team and they're in all hands working to fix this as soon as possible.

They haven't also posted any workaround as of this time. With this, you can contact our Customer Care Support so you'll be added to our list of affected users. To do so:

  1. Go to Ask QB Assistant.
  2. Enter Talk to a human in the Search field.
  3. Click Message an agent, Call an agent, or Get a callback.

Additionally, you can also browse through the content of this helpful article for an overview of how forwarding receipts works: Learn how to email receipts to QuickBooks so it automatically records them.

We appreciate your patience as we're working on this. Please let me know in the comments if you have any other questions. Stay safe!
