I am confused about naming recurring templates in QB online 4.2.1. Do I make a separate QB template for ea recurring payment with the name of the payee? Or 1 for all?

You will need to create one recurring transaction for each payee you will be processing payment for. Every scheduled entry will only allow you to assign one name at a time.

The number of template you will create, aside from the name of the recipient, will depend on the payment terms, schedule and interval. To learn more about this feature, take a look at the following links:
