I am used to using the "Get Things Done" on the dashboard and apparently it has been taken off with the newest update. Has anyone found another option for this?

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, karen170.

The Get Things Done screen still exists, but is now titled as your Home screen.

I tested this myself in our test drive account and can confirm it's still present, just with a different title ("Home").

Here's an image showing my experience:

As you can see, on my Home page, I have sections such as Tasks, Shortcuts, Bank Accounts, Profit & Loss, etc. I also have a Customize layout option which can be used to add or remove widgets, as well as rearrange them.

If you perform any customizations to your layout, be sure to select Save when you're finished.

In the event you're still not seeing your home screen, I'd recommend troubleshooting initially by checking your browser. It's possible this could have something to do with temporary internet files. Browsing applications store these types of records, but sometimes they can cause issues with certain webpages. You can open a private window and check to see if your Home page displays correctly.

Here's how to access incognito mode in some of the most commonly used web browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

If your Home screen displays properly while browsing privately, it's safe to say this problem's being caused by the browser you're using. It can be fixed by clearing cached data and Intuit-specific cookies.

In the event it continues not displaying, be sure to confirm you meet each of our current system requirements. You can also try accessing QuickBooks from other devices and/or internet connection.

If it continues occurring on other devices and internet connections after all troubleshooting has been performed, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research with you, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.

Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a great Friday!

I have the "Home" screen but not "Tasks", if that's where it's supposed to be.  I have already tried QBO support and they say it was taken off with the latest update (Get Things Done) and to leave feedback.  I guess if enough people leave feedback, they will put it back on with the next update.  Actually, what is showing in your Tasks is not what I'm looking for.  What I'm looking for would allow me to take a Recurring Transaction and select "Reminder" on the "Type" and it would create a list of Reminders for me to create bills, checks or credit card transactions that need to be created monthly or on some other regular basis.

That sounds like a great idea, @karen170! With recurring transactions, you can create a list of reminders for bills, checks, or credit card transactions. It's an easy way to stay on top of your finances without any hassle. Let me help you set it up!

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Recurring transactions.
  3. Choose New and click on the Transaction type dropdown.
  4. Confirm your selection by clicking OK.
  5. Under the Type dropdown, choose to option for Reminder.
  6. Once you have entered the required details, save the template by clicking on Save Template.

For more detailed information about creating recurring transactions, you can refer to this article: Create recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online

For future help, I've added an article for you to learn how to memorize reports in QBO: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.
