Hello there, @MB505.
Let's perform some troubleshooting steps so you can view bills from a purchase order.
Before we proceed, did you receive an error message when viewing bills? Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.
There are times that the browser stores a frequently-accessed data, thus websites, like QBO, to act weirdly. Let's try logging in to your QBO account using a private browser.
To use a private browser, here's how:
Once logged in, go back and try to view the bills again to double-check.
If this works, it means that you need to clear your browser's cache so the system can start fresh.
If you get the same result while using a private browser, I recommend switching to a different one.

Thank you for the advice Mark. I have tried all of your recommendations to no avail.
I am using the desktop app and tried switching to Url based.
The problem is that, looking at an existing purchase order (after copied to a Bill) there used to be a hyperlink in the upper left hand corner to access the bill. It now just displays "Closed". (See pic) Tried selecting "open" but it just removes the Bill.
Now, when I look at the Bill that is attached to that PO, the "linked transaction" hyperlink is there and I can access the PO but not vice versa. (see pic).
Hey there, @MB505.
Thanks for reaching out to the Community. You'll only be able to access the Bill from the actual Bill. However, as you showed in your screenshots above, you can go from the Bill and access the Purchase Order. The option to go from a Purchase Order to a linked Bill isn't available. QuickBooks does regular updates to enhance the product for customers like you but may end up taking a feature out as well.
If you want to learn more about Purchase Orders and Bills, then I strongly recommend looking into these links. You can also check out our Blog that gives you all the details on our upcoming releases within QuickBooks Online.
I'm only a post away if you have any other questions or concerns. Have a splendid day!
Please put this feature back in QB online. The links from PO to bill need to be visible and eases PO matching to invoice. Thank you!
Hello there, @ jaguar1.
Let me help you link the purchase order to a bill and identify the purchase order in question and get it linked with its corresponding bill.
If you'll want to create a new purchase order, please follow the steps below:
Also, you can use the previously created purchase order, just click the magnifying glass then locate the purchase order you'll want to link and follow step 4 and 5 to continue.
However, we're unable to link purchase order to an invoice, you'll have to create estimate or invoice manually.
I'd recommend reading out the articles that my colleague Candice C provided, about purchase orders and bills in QuickBooks.
You can visit our Help articles for tips and for your "How do I" question in the future.
Please post again if you need any other help. Take care.
This is craxy! I use PO numbers to access multiple bills attached to 1 PO. I now have to go through every bill to see which ones attach to the PO. My whole billing system will not work anymore.
Hello jc45,
This an ongoing issue that is already investigated by our engineers. Temporarily, we can go back to the bills to see the linked purchase orders instead.
I'd also recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Team so they can keep you updated about this.
We'd appreciate your patience as we work for a fix.
I agree!! Taking this feature away has add SO much more time and stress to my job! PLEASE add this feature back ASAP!
I'm in the same boat! Removing this feature has truly made my things SO much more time consuming and stressful! QBO....please add this feature back ASAP!!
It would also be nice if we were able to see the purchase order# associated with a bill without having to open it every time :-(
This feature was not removed, Stina1983.
We don't want you to have this kind of experience however, our engineers are still investigating the issue with regard to the bills linked to the purchase order.
In the meantime, we'll have to view the bill to see the linked purchase order.
I'd recommend getting in touch with our Phone Support team so you'll be added as one of the affected users. Please follow the steps shared by JamesDuanT.
Also, I'll take note of your idea with regards to the purchase order (P.O.) number. Our developers may find a way on how to view the PO number without opening its transaction.
You can also read through creating Purchase Order for some FAQs.
I'm just clicks away if you need my assistance.
+1! I really like that idea.

I too NEED this feature to view bills from a purchase order re-instated!!!!
Thanks.
Hi there, @C-CWC.
At this time, our product engineers are diligently working for a fix on viewing bills from a purchase order.
As a workaround, you can consider using the created bills to check which purchase orders have been linked.
Also, to ensure you'll get an update about the resolution status, I recommend reaching out to our Customer Support Team again. They have to collect personal data to add your company to the list of affected users and provide this investigation number for easy tracking: INV-41757.
To reach them, click the Help button, then select Contact Us to talk with a live agent.
If you have any other questions, feel free to comment below. Thank you for your patience while we're working on this.
So, its an enhancement to take away a feature that you've always had? I think thats called a down grade. How do you enhance something that way?
Exactly. Not being able to look at bills from the purchase orders make life very complicated.
I am also facing the same issues:
This is so annoying to go back and forth to see how many invoices are linked to a purchase order.
PLEASE ADD THAT FEATURE BACK!!
Thanks

Totally agree, we need to be able to see what invoices have applied against a PO to ensure not mistake was taken.
It seems that you're new to this thread, @adachoi.
There used to be an investigation with regard to the hyperlink (link to a bill) that is not showing on the purchase order window. However, I did a spot check and found out that the case was already closed.
Since you're getting the same issue. I recommend performing some basic troubleshooting steps so we can fix it. It could be that the cache stored in your browser is causing the issue. Let's start by accessing your account through a private browser.
You can access this by pressing these following keyboard shortcuts:
If it works, you’ll have to go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to improve the program's performance. If not, I'd highly suggest using other supported browsers.
Also, you may want to consider learning more about purchase orders and bills in QuickBooks to keep you ahead of your business.
I've also included an article that'll help you in copying estimates to a purchase order in QuickBooks Online: Copy an estimate to a purchase order.
Drop a comment below if you have additional QuickBooks-related concerns. The Community team got your back. Take care!
I have the same issue. All purchase orders show the bill linked. Then just randomly, the purchase order does not show linked to the bill AND the purchase order will not close.
Still on going 3 years later,
Still not working 3 years later. Accountants and Bookkeeper do not have time to repeat their work. please fix this issue.
Hi, @TSFoutty.
