I did not add all my business expenses for 2019 to the QB app Self Employed. How can I add them now?

Hello there, @pattitogioka.

 

Welcome to the Community. At the moment, you can only add each of your old transactions using the mobile apps. However, you can also log in to a web browser using the same credentials to upload a .CSV (comma-separated values) file of your 2019 business expenses all at once. 

 

First off, get older transactions from your bank by downloading them and save it in a .CSV file format. Here's how: 

 

  1. Log in to your bank or credit card’s website.
  2. Follow your bank’s directions to download transactions to your computer. 
  3. Set the date range to 2019 for the download, then save the file on your desktop.

 

Once done, start your uploading your transactions. Here's how: 

 

  1. Open your QBSE account in a web browser.
  2. In the Settings icon, select Imports.
  3. Choose Import older transactions on the right for the account you want the transactions to belong to.
  4. Click Browse to locate the file you downloaded from your bank.
  5. Select the file and choose Open to start the import.
  6. Review the column headers and data. Make sure the Date, Description, and Amount columns on the CSV match the columns and order in QuickBooks. The other column headers can be in any order, then click Continue to complete the import.
  7. Follow the instructions onscreen to finish importing your data, then select Import.

 

Now, you're ready to review and categorize your transactions to add them to your books. Should you opt to enter each of your 2019 transactions manually using the mobile apps, you can follow the steps in this help article: Manually add transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed

 

For future reference, you can also connect your banks and credit cards so your transactions will automatically download from your connected accounts.
