I have a payroll tax problem and called for service assistance. I was told my data file is corrupted. I can pay $100 for a one time fix or $800 for a year. Since I am retiring in 3 months, I will use Turbo tax to create correct reports that are needed.

I have a payroll tax problem and called for service assistance. I was told my data file is corrupted. I can pay $100 for a one time fix or $800 for a year. Since I am retiring in 3 months, I will use Turbo tax to create correct reports that are needed.

Let's fix the payroll tax issue on your company file, dlmc50.

Before we start, please know that we don't take any extra charges. To ensure you have the contacted the right support team, you can check out this link and choose your subscription: Contact QuickBooks products and services Support

Going back, a corrupted file can be fixed by repairing it using the rebuild data tool within QuickBooks. And, I'm glad to show you how:

  1. Go to the File menu, then hover over Utilities and select Rebuild Data.
  2. On the QuickBooks Information window, select OK. Follow the onscreen steps to save a backup.
  3. Let the tool repair your file. It may take some time. QuickBooks may seem stuck, but as long as you can move your mouse, the tool is working.
  4. When the tool finishes, select OK.
  5. Go to the File menu. Then hover over Utilities and select Verify Data.
  6. Let the tool check your file for data issues.

If the system doesn't find any problems, select OK. If there's an issue, choose Rebuild Now.

If the same issue persists, you can use the QuickBooks File Doctor to solve data issues.

If you're still having issues with the payroll tax, I recommend contacting our Support Team using the link provided above. They can help repair your data and provide the necessary steps to keep the payroll up and running.
