Join nowThe annual subscription invoice is scheduled to be sent in September, but the customer would like the invoice today to start the payment approval process. I would like to open the recurring invoice template and have QB generate the invoice today.
Is this possible? Or do I have to manually create a standard invoice, send that separate invoice, and then update the recurring invoice template to send next year? (skip this year)

Wow, thank you. Just to confirm, you are referring to the "Use" menu item from the drop down next to the Edit link?
You got it right, @sendow.
Selecting the Use option from the drop-down menu will generate your recurring invoice. To learn more about how recurring transactions work in QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can refer to this link for reference: How to create a recurring invoice and manage recurring transactions.
Let me also add this article that can guide you on how to personalize your invoice and control what information your customer sees: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
You can always post a reply in this thread if you have other questions about managing your recurring transactions. I’m just a few clicks away.
Great, thank you!
