I'm new to QBOL and don't like how my chart of accounts wound up. How can I delete the entire chart of accounts so I can start clean?

Let me share some information about deleting accounts in QuickBooks Online (QBO), mshornick.

The option to delete the entire account in the Charts of Accounts is unavailable. We can make the account inactive is it the same as deleting the account. When it is deleted, it gets removed from the Chart of accounts, and other places where you can choose accounts. If the account contains transactions, they remain part of your company data. You can find them through reports.

To delete the account successfully, you may need to make it inactive:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts under Your Company.
  3. Find the account you want to delete.
  4. Choose the drop-down in the Action column, then click Make Inactive.
  5. Press Yes to confirm the action.

You can check out this article for more details: Make an account inactive on your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online. To completely remove a deleted account from the reports, you can check out this link for more detailed steps: Remove deleted accounts from reports

However, if you want to delete your data in QuickBooks Online and start over with new books, check out this article for the steps and details: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online.

No, it's not. Anyone can see that.
