I'm here to share some information about how invoices work in QuickBooks Online, charles831.

The program is able to support as many line items on a sales form as are needed. However, there are chances that you'll begin experiencing minor performance issues as the number of lines increases.

Instead of creating a single invoice, I'd recommend splitting it into multiple transactions. This way, the QuickBooks can easily load/send your invoices and help keep the program running at peak performance when we're are processing a large volume of transactions.

In addition, there are various things you can do to ensure that you'll get the most out of your QuickBooks experience. Please check the pointers below:

  • Ensure your web browser is up to date.
  • Check to see if there are critical performance updates for your operating system.
  • Run an internet speed test.

For more resources, you can also visit our Frequently Asked Questions page about technical limits, file sizes, transaction volumes, and data entry.

If there's anything else that I can help you with, please don't hesitate to visit this thread again. Stay safe and healthy.

I understand what you are trying to tell me to do by splitting the invoice, the problem is the customer does not want and will not accept more than 1 invoice. This is for a $25,000 sale. I had to create the invoice in Excell as QB-Online will not save the file. I'm trying to reenter now but with no success. I've tried multiple computers, multiple browsers, incognito versions of the browser and all give me the same error once I try to enter something on line 50.

@charles831

Consider preparing your data in XLS and utilize the trial period of TP Importer to import it as Estimate. You can send the invoice later.
