If I turn on credit card payments for invoices, who gets charged the processing fee? Is it us (off the payment), or will the client paying the invoice get charged extra?

Hi there, @accounts-klyxx-c.

I'll help share details about the changes made while processing credit card payments made online.

With QuickBooks Payments, a customer and a business owner, like you, are given the option to accept online payments anytime. The credit card charge is taken out from your account and it is use in processing the online payments by your customers.

These fees are calculated depending on how you process the credit card payments. Your choices are as follows:

  • Bank transfers (ACH) - 1% charge maximum of 10$ per transaction
  • Swiped - 2.4% per transaction
  • Invoiced - 2.9% per transaction
  • Keyed - 3.4% per transaction

This article will give you an overview and how these charges work: Accept Credit Card Payments.

I'm also adding this reference with the tips and steps you can use once you start accepting payments from your customers online: How to Receive Customer Payments for Online Invoices and In-person Sales?

Keep me posted on how it goes. If you have further concerns about online payments and processing fees, please don't hesitate to leave a comment below. I'm always around to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success!
