Invoicing not working. Creating an invoice worked fine for years, but now, suddenly, it does not work at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated

When I go to New, Create Invoice, the web link does not work on the page, no invoice is created. I've gone to the address bar, and it starts to work, but then stops, and does nothing, with no invoice created. I have a feeling it may be a virus setting, or something similar, but any insight would be most appreciated.

Issues with creating invoices can be caused by a browser. Let's try using a private browser or incognito window as an initial step to fixing this issue. This will eliminate any browser history that may cause a glitch inside QuickBooks. You can refer to the following keyboard shortcuts below:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Once done, try customizing the report again, then close out the private window and clear the cache on the regular browser. This will remove previously stored browsing data that might have caused the issue. Otherwise, you can try other supported browsers to help narrow down the cause of this behavior.

Tried your suggestion in all three browsers, it continues to refuse to create the invoice.  The link in the menu also appears to not work.  When I click on the create invoice link, it does nothing, although, the web address for that app/invoice does appear in the address bar.  It does not activate by mouse from the link, but, I can get it to somewhat respond by hitting enter while using the address bar.  While it actually does something, it does not create the invoice form.  Merely a blank page.  It worked 2 weeks ago just fine.  I've been out of town for the last 2 weeks, so no one has been on the pc, and to my knowledge, nothing has changed.  All other portions of the QB website and app seem to work just fine.  Only the "create invoice" portion of the app is not working.

I perceive all the efforts you've done in resolving the invoice problem especially for following the steps outlined above. 

 

Since the issue keeps going, I'd recommend contacting our technical support team. Our representatives can provide additional troubleshooting to identify this behavior or submit a ticket to our engineers for investigation. 

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. Go to the Help menu, then click Contact Us
  2. Type your concern in the box and tap Let's talk
  3. Choose either Get a call or Start a chat
  4. Complete the required data and submit the request.

Having same issue. Started 3 days ago when I tried to use Create Invoice. I have talked to customer care 3 times and they acknowledge a problem, but there is no ETA on the fix. I have cleared cache in Chrome, tried Safari, and tried incognito. Only get a blank screen when hitting Create Invoice button

I understand the importance of creating an invoice. However, we received reports about the error that says, "Something's not working. Try refreshing the page and check back." when creating an invoice in QuickBooks Online. Our engineers are aware and working on a fix.

 

If you encountered this error, I recommend contacting QuickBooks Online Support to be added to the list of affected users. Here's how: 

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company. Click Help (?).
  2. Choose either tab to get started: Assistant or Talk to a human.
  3. Search Contact Us.
  4. Start a chat with a support expert.

 

You can contact us from Mondays to Fridays, 6 AM to 6 PM PT, and Saturdays 6 AM to 3 PM PT. 

 

Also, I'd suggest performing some basic troubleshooting steps to determine if it is a browser-related issue.

 

You may refer to these keyboard shortcuts depending on your browser type:
