I can help you with resolving your auto mileage tracking in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), @sevan1.
To track your trips accurately, make sure to turn off your settings to restrict battery and data usage. It can interfere with the accuracy of QuickBooks Self-Employed GPS mileage tracking. Turning this off varies by device, for more information, see this article:
You can also add those missed trips manually, see this article for more information: Manually track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

This did not resolve my issue. I have found that app will track my trips if I open it before drive but it no longer runs on its on as it did for the first couple years I used it.
Hi there, @sevan1.
Let me provide with you other troubleshooting steps that could fix your mileage tracking issue.
Before we start, can you share with me the type of device you're using when using the app? That way, I can provide you with the right solution to address your concern.
If you notice missing or inaccurate trips on your phone, don't worry. You can adjust your device and your app settings so your trips are tracked accurately.
To start, review the general location settings on your phone or tablet. Make sure you’ve allowed the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) app to run in the background.
If you don't allow the app to run in the background, it will only track trips when it's open and active on your screen.
If you're still getting the same result, update the QBSE app. That way, you can refresh the app and download the latest updates and fix.
For Android devices, follow these steps:
In case you don’t see the QBSE app in the Updates tab, that means your app is already up to date.
If you're using an iPhone or iPad, follow the steps in this article: How to Update your iPhone or iPad to the Latest Version of iOS.
Moreover, you can manually add trips in QBSE. That way, you can enter mileage in case your device didn't turn on during the trip.
The Community always has your back, so please let me know if you have any other questions, sevan1. I'll be more than happy to help. Keep safe.
