List of specific journal entries

Hi -

My accountant has me enter payroll as journal entries and for some reason I can never find the list of just those journal entries. I've stumbled across it in the past.  Can you tell me where to find it?  Thank you for the help!

List of specific journal entries

It's good to see you here in the Community, @Jeannie-G.

At this time, the option to pull up a list of payroll transactions entered as journal entries is unavailable. As a workaround, you can run and customize the Transaction Detail by Account report to show your payroll transactions instead. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Click Reports from the left menu.
  3. Search for Transaction Detail by Account report.
  4. Click Customize.
  5. Select the reporting period you want to show on the report.
  6. Go to the Filter section, then put a checkmark in the Employee checkbox and choose Select all from the drop-down.
  7. From the Transaction Type drop-down, select Journal Entry.
  8. Click Run report.

Once done, you'll now see the journal entries created for your payroll transactions. I'm adding this article to learn more about how to customize reports: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

You might also want to run specific payroll reports in QuickBooks Online. This allows you to view useful payroll information based on the data you need.

Please keep in touch if there's anything else I can do to help you succeed with QuickBooks. I've got your back, @Jeannie-G.
