Making a sub customer into a regular customer

For quite some time I've complained that I can't make a sub customer into a regular customer as I once could.

I've attached a screenshot of instructions from quickbooks "making this simple"....I've also attached the message I get when I try to do this simple change...about deleting a whole bunch of stuff that my bookeeper says will then screw up the bank deposits...

WE USED TO BE ABLE TO DO THIS...BUT THE GAWDS AT  QUICKBOOKS NEVER EXPLAIN WHY WE ONCE COULD AND NOW CAN'T....

Making a sub customer into a regular customer

Hello @Shadyal,

Let me help share how you can convert a sub customer back to a regular one in QuickBooks.

Normally, the transactions created under a sub customer make up the total balance of the parent. Even if the sub customer doesn't have any open invoices, you're still unable to check it back to a regular one especially if it is billed with the parent and a pending balance.

With this, let's consider reviewing all the transactions only under the parent customer to make sure it has no open invoices or unapplied payment to get rid of the error message.

In the same manner, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can organize your customer's list: Add and manage customers in QuickBooks Online.

On top of that, I've also included this reference for a compilation of articles you can use while working with us: Sales and Customer for QuickBooks Online.

If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know in the comments below. I'll be here to lend a hand.

Making a sub customer into a regular customer

sorry but you might as well had written that in mandarin......

ONE question I'd like QB to answer....why could I simply move them before and not now???????

no, the "answer" was not of any help at all.....

I have nothing but disgust for a system that once worked and was changed with no proper explanation why or effort for those that changed it to resolve the problem .....

WHY is it that once you could easily change a sub customer to a regular customer and now you can't ?????
