I'm here to ensure you can set up your budget transactions, @mkanwar63.

We're unable to assign divisions using specific categories when creating a budget transaction. However, we can assign classes to them. You'll need to ensure the class tracking feature is turned on to achieve this: Turn on class tracking.

To create a budget by class, here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon ⚙️ at the top-right part, and then select Budgeting under the Tools section.
  2. Tap Add Budget or choose an existing budget to edit it.
  3. Create a budget name, and then select Class under the Subdivide drop-down ▼.
  4. Fill out other info as needed, and then click Next to continue.
  5. Hit Save once ready.

Also, we can import your budget transactions so you can format its template. Please refer to this article for more details: Import budget in QuickBooks Online.

You may also want to run the Budget vs. Actuals report to keep track of your actual income and expenses compared to your budgeted amounts. Here are the steps how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu, and then search for Budget vs. Actuals.
  2. Choose the Report period you want, the Accounting method, etc.
  3. In the Budget section, pick the appropriate budget with class.
  4. Click Run report once done.

Then, you can customize it to personalize its details and formats. Check out this article for the steps on how: Customize reports.

I'll be around to help in case you have more questions about managing your budget transactions or anything else related to QuickBooks. Take care and stay safe always.

Agreed.  Everything from Intuit is hot garbage, but they have a monopoly so what can you do about it?
