On the QBO app on my phone, I clicked the text msg symbol next to a customer's phone number, chose the wrong msg app and now it won't send texts. How to fix?

I've got some steps to fix this unusual behavior in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) App, Service.

 

There are times performance issues in the app can be caused by a full or damaged browser's cache data. When this happens, it prevents you from sending texts when clicking the Text message symbol.

 

To fix this, let's try resetting the app data to clear the cache and refresh it into its default state.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Help menu. 
  2. Click Reset App Data.
  3. Close the app when the process completed.
  4. Be sure to right-click the app and Run as Administrator when re-opening. 

Then, try sending texts again.

 

If the same thing happens, try uninstalling/reinstall the QBO App. This is to ensure you get the most recent version of the application.

The QBO App is always in sync with QBO on the web. Just access your account on the web if you need to run business transactions right away.

I did everything you suggested and nothing worked. I cleared the app data, cleared the cache, deleted the app, reinstalled the app, synced the data, and when I press the message key I get a quick oval below that says "Could not start conversation." I also located my default messaging app, cleared defaults, then reset it as the default. I also rebooted my phone.
