One of our rule categories (Parts), is coming up as banking instead of an expense. Appears we can t re category. Help?

I’ll help you correct the transaction into the expense category, @clovisboats-gmai.

 

You’ll want to check if the Enable suggested categorization option in the Banking page is selected. This will default the last selected category or account. If so, follow the steps below to uncheck it:

 

  1. On the left pane, select the Banking menu to get to the Banking page.
  2. In the For Review tab, click the Gear icon at the right.
  3. Remove the checkmark in the Enable suggested categorization.

 

Additionally, you have the option to change the category of the transaction manually. If it’s still on the For review tab, select the transaction and change the category to the correct one.

You can also exclude them so they won’t affect the wrong account or category. Let’s then re-enter the transaction manually into QBO.
