We received similar reports from other users being unable to make an invoice or enter a bill due to the freezing of the inventory list. No worries, this has been escalated to our product engineers and they're investigating the issue.

 

For now, let's perform basic troubleshooting steps to check if this is a web-related issue. Cache and cookies can affect your browser's performance. And also, it tends to hold onto information that causes web page issues.

 

Let's start by accessing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account in a private browser.

 

  • Google Chrome, press CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL + Shift + P
  • Internet Explorer: Press CTRL + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

 

If your inventory list works fine after, I recommend clearing the cache of your regular web browser to improve its performance. If the issue persists, you can use another supported browser.

Our inventory list keeps freezing on us when we are trying to make an invoice or enter in a bill.

I have had our local internet company come in and check our router and make sure that is all up to date. I have had our local computer repair and support company come in and make sure our computer was running smoothly. I was on the phone with Quickbooks support for 4 hours the other day and all they could come up with for an idea is that I needed to update to windows 10. I have now updated to Windows 10 Pro and it is still not working.

An isolation ticket was created to help our Product Team investigate what's causing the product/service selection to freeze on your sales forms.

 

I suggest getting back in touch with our QuickBooks Online Team. I know you've already contacted them. However, they can pull up your account in a secure environment and add it to the investigation (INV-44465). This way, you'll be able to receive updates regarding the issue via email.

 

Once connected on the phone, you can provide the case number from your previous conversation so you won't have to start over with the issue.

 

To contact our support:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to Help (?).
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  5. Choose Start a chat to connect with us with a support expert.

Thank you for your response. I did contact support again and nothing is resolved yet. They did say they would give a return call but I am still waiting for that.

Thank you for your response to my issue. I am still waiting for a call back from the last person I talked to at the support team. As of now nothing has been resolved.

I am still having the same issue and Quickbooks has not been able to help. I can not make invoices or bills. Please if anyone knows what I can do please help. This has been going on for 3 weeks now.

Thank you for your prompt reply, as well as sharing an update on your current situation. 

 

Follow the steps below to get your inventory list back up and running:

 

  1. Open your browser's private window. This isolates cache, which is usually the cause of unusual behaviors in browsers. 
    • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
    • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
    • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
    • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  2. If this works for you, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache
  3. If the issue persists, open an alternative browser available for you.

Our inventory list keeps freezing on us when we are trying to make an invoice or enter in a bill.

I see the original thread is from May.  It is now Aug 10th and we have had the same issue both with the app on our desktop and online versions.  Line item entry for inventory on an invoice freezes for 30 seconds.
