QB for Mac 2019 and use online payroll. MS Excel for Mac 2020

I have QB for Mac 2019 and use online payroll. When I try to export a payroll report to excel, it opens MS Word and then gives me an error message. Also, when I try to export my checkbook register, QB crashes every time.  I have Excel for Mac 2020.

Good afternoon, @aces.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I'd be glad to lend a hand and provide you with information about exporting your payroll report and your checkbook register to Excel.

The issue that's occurring sounds like an application problem, and I'd like to test out a few troubleshooting steps to get you back to business.

First, let's try:

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. Open back up QuickBooks.
  3. Access the report and send it to Excel.

If the following steps above weren't successful, then let's run a Verify and Rebuild utility. This tool will fix any errors it can find and notify you of anything that needs to be manually corrected.

To run the Verify and Rebuild utility, here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu at the top, then pick Utilities on the drop-down.
  2. Choose Verify Data.
  3. Once one, go back to Utilities, then click Rebuild Data

You can also refer back to this article for further guidance as well: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop. Once done, try to export the payroll report to Excel. If you're still getting the same results, you can repair QuickBooks Desktop to fix the program issues and errors.

That's all for it. Please let me know if the information provided does the trick. I'm only a comment away if you have any more questions or concerns. Happy Tuesday!

Thanks for trying.  Nothing helped.  It's still doing the same things.  When I try verify and rebuild, it is not finding anything wrong.
