It's absolutely RIDICULOUS that I can not pull a report out of QBO that has both the Customer sales amount and address on it. It was easy in QBDT. My client is a nonprofit and they need this information to send acknowledgement letters to donors.
QBO needs to fix this. People have been complaining about it for at least 4 years.
I'm so ready to just leave QBO. Anyone have a suggestion?
Consider having a BI app to sync with QBO as a workaround. Otherwise, you should switching to QB Desktop Premier.
RE: QBO Reporting is TERRIBLE
Yes, it is! It's been terrible for a couple of decades, and the recent new and improved reports such just as bad and have a whole slew of new issues that Intuit doesn't seem interested in fixing. I suspect that Online is such a mess they basically can't make the reports better - or aren't willing to invest the time and money to do it.
This is one of the big, glaring ways that Desktop is far, far better than Online.
But Intuit can't be bothered with such details, and continues to blithely insist that Online is actually an upgrade, when that couldn't be farther from the truth. Desktop is better in every way.

Good choice!
RE: Anyone have a suggestion?
QuickBooks Desktop. Way better. Buy it here: Intuit - QuickBooks Pro & Premier 2024 purchase page
Desktop is just WAY too much money for these very small non-profits. They can't afford the subscription (they are currently using a donated subscription through TechSoup). I'm looking for an alternative that is cost effective.
Thanks though.
Do they need to run any add-ons? e.g QB Payroll, QB Payment
They do have payroll; I was running it manually, but that isn't a great option (most other bookkeepers won't do it, so it makes any transition very difficult). It's mostly that the bank download has been disabled (such a crappy thing Intuit does on the way out!).
I'm VERY frustrated with QBO right now, with things breaking all the time, and the price going up and up. And it really seems like Intuit is going to end QBDT (they keep saying it's happening, and then extending it a little longer, but eventually it will stop.) I wish someone would come along and fill the niche that QBDT has left - a small, stable bookkeeping software that just works, without "bells & whistles" that my small clients don't need, and is reasonably priced.
If you don't mind to register payroll expenses by JE manually, you can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2022 Enterprise as a workaround. You can also use the bank feed feature. You should contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA for details.
