Quickbooks 2023 for Mac - Report dates randomly change when entering new dates

I've been using QuickBooks 2023 for Mac for about a year. One thing I've noticed is that, when generating reports in the Report Center, when using custom dates, and when I enter a date in one of the date fields, it randomly changes to something else. So I have to re-enter the date. It's infuriating, so I'm wondering if there's a hidden setting somewhere that I haven't been able to uncover and turn off (or on). This behavior eventually goes away after fighting it for awhile. Anyone else have this issue?

Quickbooks 2023 for Mac - Report dates randomly change when entering new dates

Hi there, @MikeGBP. Let me go ahead and assist you in running your report with specific data.

I know it takes time to run a report, and you have to change the date every time. I suggest that we verify and rebuild your data.

Let me share how to do it:

  1. Go to Window, and select Close All.
  2. Go to File, and select Utilities.
  3. Select Verify Data. If you see:
    1. QuickBooks detected no problems with your data—your data is clean, and you don’t need to do anything else.
    2. An error message—search for it on our QuickBooks Desktop support site for how to fix it.
    3. Your data has lost integrity- data damage was found in the file. Rebuild your data to fix it.

Please note that if you use Assisted Payroll, contact Assisted Payroll before rebuilding your data.

Here's how you can rebuild:

  1. Go to FileUtilities, and then select Rebuild Data.
  2. QuickBooks will ask you to make a backup before it rebuilds your company file. Select OK. A backup is required before you can rebuild.
  3. Select where you want to save your backup, then OK. Don’t replace another backup file. Enter a new name in the File name and select Save.
  4. Select OK when you get the message Rebuild has completed.
  5. Go to File, select Utilities, and select Verify Data again to check for additional damage.
    1. If the verification finds more damage, you’ll need to fix it manually. Search for the error(s) in the qbwin.log on the QuickBooks Desktop support site for how to fix it.
    2. If you're unable to locate the error, you can restore a recent backup. Navigate to the File menu and select Open or Restore Company.

Please note that you should not replace your existing company file. You'll need to re-enter the information into your company file since a backup was created.

Quickbooks 2023 for Mac - Report dates randomly change when entering new dates

Thanks for the response. I didn't think it would matter, but I did run Verify Data just in case. QB immediately came back with a no-problems-found message. So I'm not sure it did anything, BUT I can't recreate the glitchy behavior I was seeing earlier. I've tried a couple different days. So maybe it helped? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
