Quickbooks won't let me enter a vendor because they are already a customer, is there a way to do this?

It’s nice to see you in the Community, raylrock.


Yes, there’s a way for you to enter a vendor even if the customer is already using this name. Let’s change the display name to successfully set up the supplier in your company.


Here’s how:

 

  1. Navigate to the Sales menu to select Customers.
  2. From there list, click on the customer’s name to view more details.
  3. Tap the Edit button to open the Customer Information window.
  4. Change the Display name to the following format: Last and first.duplicate name.png
  5. Click Save to keep the changes.

Once done, you can now enter your supplier in QuickBooks Online. For detailed instructions, check out this guide: Add a supplier.
