Quickbooks won't let me resend a contractor an invite to add personal information. It says "waiting" and there is no way to resend the invite. How do I resend it?

When I attempt to add information manually, it asks me to click if they are filing individually or as a business.  When I click individually the screen goes dark and freezes.  I also can't resend the email address.  I'm stuck as to how to get their information added. Anyone have the issue or know how to fix it?

I can help you with resolving the error you're having to invite your contractor successfully, @PsychPointe.

You can Send a reminder or Send email to resend the invitation to your contractor.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu and select Contractors or Contractors menu and select Contractors.
  2. Click the contractor’s name.
  3. Select Send a reminder or Send email.

In case the screen goes dark and freezes, try resolving it by clearing your browser's cache and cookies. You can start by signing in to your QBO account using a private browser or an incognito window. This helps isolate the issue since it doesn’t store data in the cache. Here are the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

If it works, here's how to clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online. Restart your browser right after. Once done, try to resend the invitation to your contractor.

Here's more information on setting up your 1099 contractors: Set up contractors and track them for 1099s. It'll provide you with more information about who needs 1099.

Hello,

I cleared the cache and followed the steps but, I do not have an option to send a reminder email.  All it says when I click on the contractor is it says "email has been sent" and then there is a hyperlink says "waiting for info."  If I click the hyper link it asks me if they are filing individual or business.  I click individual and the screen freezes and goes dark. I can't get past that to manually enter their info.  This is happening for only two of my contractors.  The rest that say "waiting for info," if I click the hyperlink and click "individual" it brings up the screen to let me manually enter their information.  Please advise?
