You have to go to the 1099 misc mapping and UNMAP all except rent.
The go to the 1099 nec mapping and MAP everything to box 1 or whatever
box is appropriate. Right now everything is mapped to 1099 misc and you
can't print both ways. It took me awhile to figure this one out.
I finally got mine to print! I went over and over the same procedure and after eliminating all updates and then closing QB and then the computer too...went back and did new updates and mapped again and this time it work. No idea why...

We have updated our QBs Desktop Enterprise Solutions: Contractor 22 version. Still can't get it to print 3part 1099 NECs. Still printing as 2 per page. Please help!!!
I just installed QB 2022 and did all the updates. It is still printing 1099s as 2-up, instead of 3-up.
What else can be done?

No. This does not work! Its 1/24/22 and I can't print my 1099-NECs. Using 2019Premier Contractor Edition.
Thank you! This worked for me. After clicking the "reset update" button and then clicking "get updates", there was a box that showed the updates in progress. When they were done, I closed everything up and turned off my computer. Took a short sanity break. Turned on computer. When I opened QB, the signature green circle came up with a small "updating Quickbooks . . . . ." message and then opened. I can now print 3-up 1099s!

I have followed the instructions exactly to get the update to change the 1099 NEC from to print as 3 per page instead of 2 per page, but when I go to print the 1099 forms, it is still printing 2 per page.
The instructions indicate that when the update is finished, to close and reopen QuickBooks Desktop. Click Yes to install the updates, then restart your computer. However, after restarting QB desktop I did not receive a prompt asking me to install the updates. This is the only part of the instructions that was missing when I attempted to update. Where do I go to install the updates after restarting QB desktop?
I have tried this 2-3 times and it does not change anything. When I go to "Preview" before printing, Quick Books still wants to print 2 per page and not 3 per page. How to fix this?
This WORKED!!! It is the only thing that fixed the problem. I was able to finally print 3 to a page. I have QBDT 2020
If you are still getting 2 NEC's per page on QB 2021 (or any version).
Go to Update quickbooks.
Update Now tab
Check the reset update box, then click Get Updates.
I struggled with EVERY OTHER OPTION and advice that Intuit "support" gave. This one worked.
Go to help drop-down
About half way down is Update Quickbooks option
Then go to update now tab
Reset Update
Get Updates
I followed these instructions and it is still printing two per page, help!!
Hello. Despite following your instructions above of updating, installing, and restarting my computer, the “fix” doesn’t seem to have worked. When I print a sample, the boxes still do not line up. I’m well aware of how to move vertically or horizontally, as I’ve been doing this for years, but that is not going to fix this. It still appears to be printing a sample for two to a page. In order to get the boxes to line up on the left, j have to raise them another 5/8” which puts the amount for box number 1 yearly off the form. How can this be fixed, please and thank you.
I’m having the same problem after doing the same things.
Thanks for coming back, KAS18.
