I cannot find anything for my independent contractor input for my 1099s. This is horrible. The old was easy to use and now i cannot find anything. Let alone I cannot get anyone on the phone and I am still paying big money for something I cannot use. Every July I come in and do my input and there is nothing here. This is pretty disqusting. I used refer people to quick books but not anymore. I know your platform, make it harder so we have to pay for book keeping. Not happening.
This is horrible and noone to talk to.
What did you change to?
Did you look for / find other software?
Although I do not like the new layout of the invoices, everything else in QBO is working well so I am still using QBO. I am not sure why they changed the invoice layout. Hopefully they are reading the conversations.
I agree… The former system was much simpler to use and navigate.
I am not sure why they changed the format so radically.
@cher941265 I know bigger companies who have switched to SAP, Oracle/Netsuite, and Sage.
For smaller companies (which is what Quickbooks seems to be focusing on these days but a doing a horrible job of actually making their small business accounting easier) bookkeeping software like Freshbooks, Xero, Wave, and Zoho have been good at providing better and cheaper alternatives. These developers are all pretty responsive to feedback as well so if you like their product but need something specialized, they could possibly implement it for you much faster than Quickbooks ever would.
I also was introduced to TaxDome, but I didn't get a lot of time to experiment with the. Might be worth it to check them out too.
Thanks for your response. Have you used any of the programs you mentioned in your reply?
I am surprised quickbooks is even in business. It works well for an Etsy account or maybe a church bake sale, but to run an actual business its completely useless. Even something as simple as uploading a journal entry using an excel or CSV file, like EVERYONE else allows, is an impossibility with QB. I've been in a number of MS accounting information systems, Sage, Oracle, and Lawson and QB works like nothing I've ever experienced. That much being said, I used quickbooks back in college 25 years ago when I was keeping books for a small construction company, and the 2024 desktop version is almost exactly as it was 2-1/2 decades ago.
X, F, and Z are recommended, but not W. You can purchase a 3rd party conversion service if required. But I prefer to recommend converting data to QB Desktop and use the trial version for good to access the historical data. You will start from scratch in the new system to lower your conversion costs.
You are definitely not the only one. The new QuickBooks online updates have more than tripled the time I previously spent on invoicing. The recent updates are trash and absolutely must change or we are hitting the road and will move our three companies to a new platform. It is insane!!
Thank you for your response. It is extremely frustrating. I noticed a couple of days ago while I was invoicing it became EVEN MORE TIME CONSUMING. I use to be able to tab through the invoice without having to actually use the mouse to click on the fields. I could type a few letters and it would populate the item I am looking for. I can still do that. BUT, Now, if I don’t use the mouse to click on the field I am typing in, when I get to the end of that line item it does not add a new line.I have to click the “+” to get a new line everytime.
Have you looked at other programs?
That is crap.
You've taken away the 'clear invoice' button and you've taken the button that prints the invoice with 'Invoice #' without having to type in a file name. W/hat is your upside in removing useful features?
And your bandwidth is absolute crap. The rest of my computer runs well except for Quickbooks onlline. I wait so long I forget what I was even doing for basic functions. Every computer I work on, home, work, away all the slowest moving app in the system.
Yes, but you get to do your books "online". That's so cool, right?
I mean, everyone wants their accounting to be done through a browser, right? It's so modern!
One of the things they took away was a crucial field we used to use on forms for internal notes. Please see screenshot. Is there any way for us to get this functionality back again?
As far as Intuit goes I can only laugh about the claims that you "value feedback". The only thing you "value" is turning our software into a 24/7 advertisement machine trying to shove new services we don't want down out throats. Care about our feebback LOL. What an insult to our intelligence.
well of course my comment probably got deleted by your AI
