This does not work. The email address is the ONLY field that is showing up grayed-out and you can NOT update it. Same in ALL browsers with private or cookies/data deleted. Same behavior.
Just to ADD to previous comment - same thing happens when you go to prepare 1099s and click EDIT in step 2 to update Contractors info. The email is grayed out and can NOT be updated. Its bit frustrating.
Anyone has solution for this?

I appreciate for performing the troubleshooting steps in your end. Though, we can toggle the track payment for 1099, click uncheck then save, then click check again and save it. We can go back to the Contractor and click the pencil icon to edit, then select Individual and enter the email address and save it.
However, if the workaround didn't work, I recommend contacting our Customer support team as they have the tools to pull up your account to determine the root of why you're unable to input the email address in your end.

That did it! Clicking SAVE and then re-opening it - now I can update the email!

If the email address is greyed out. I did the following troubleshooting:
1) Enter to EDIT contractor
2) change the Social Security number to a "fake" (just one number to make sure you can correct it later) and SAVE it
3) Go back to contractor EDIT and a) correct the Social Security (to its real number) b) the E-mail section will be active and you can enter the e-mail address. Then SAVE it.

The name of the contractor will also show in the Vendors list. From there, you can open its profile and update the email address.Here’s how:

Work-around fix as follows:
Contractor, edit, temporary change ss#, save, back to edit again, change back ss#, change email, save, done!! It's a silly work around, but simple quick and easy for sure.
Wake up qbo, wake up!!! Turn your answer robots off and get your butt to work. You should have this bug fixed already. Your customer community loses faith in you when you don't care to fix these small simple things. A software programmer could have this permanently fixed in just a few minutes. It's a small problem, but as we all know alot of unresolved small problems add up to one big problem. You can do it! We're counting on you, the humans behind the seen, not these bots.
