I keep coming back to this problem and just can't seem to tease out the solution. My Accounts Receivable Aging Report doesn't tie to my General Ledger balance - it's way off! My audit is approaching and I really want t get this fixed so that this year I don't have to try to explain it.
I've gone through all the steps QB recommends and they have yielded no results. I've identified the dates when the balances diverged and I've looked in those dates for anything out of the ordinary that might correspond to the amounts of the discrepancies. It has jumped out a little at a time, but it was stable for about a year then started jumping out in small increments again. I'm very certain it is something I am doing, but for the life of me - I don't know what.
I've now been at this long enough that I don't think I could see the solution if it struck me in the face. Any thoughts?
