Billable Time

Thanks for dropping by, @Cathy28601.

Using the QuickBooks Online software to show billable time on invoices is something I can help you with. But first, may I ask if you're using a third-party application to track-time activities? Any information can help us resolve the problem.

In the meantime, I suggest resetting the application to re-establish its connection. The app store data can be the reason behind the hurdle you've experienced.

Here's how:

  1. Click Help on the navigation bar at the top.
  2. Select on Reset App Data.
  3. Allow a moment for the process to complete, and then close the app.
  4. Be sure to right-click the app and Run as Administrator when re-opening.

If you get the same result, you can uninstall and reinstall the app to start a clean slate. You can check out this article to download the app again: QuickBooks Online Mobile App.

Also, I'd suggest accessing your account via supported browsers. This helps you achieve your QuickBooks tasks.

Additionally, to know which QuickBooks Online mobile app features are supported on your mobile device, I encourage visiting this guide: Compare Mobile App Features.

Keep me updated on how it goes. I'll be here to provide further assistance to show billable time on invoices. Take care.

Billable Time

I will complete the suggested steps.

I think the issue is that the client subscribed to the new app Time, but we do not feel that he requires the app.

Just tracking time for himself and wants to be able to invoice clients.

Even though he canceled the subscription, I believe that it is still linked to his QBO.

Billable Time

Thanks for the update, @Cathy28601. Let's get the mobile app up and running. This way, the billable time entered will show up in your account.

We don't want our customers to encounter this when they use our mobile app. Let me give screenshots of where to see Reset app data in the QuickBooks Online mobile app.

Are you using an Android or iPhone device? We have different steps on each of these devices. You can refer to the steps below.

For Android:

  1. From More Options, select the Help & Feedback tab.
  2. Choose the Refresh Data menu.
  3. Hit Yes

For iOs:

  1. Go to your iPhone's Settings menu, select Accessibility (varies by device), and click Apps.
  2. Select QuickBooks from the drop-down and choose the Menu tab.
  3. Select Help & Feedback.
  4. Click the Refresh data or Reset App Data.
  5. Reboot the app.

If you still didn't see it, I'd recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the app for a clean slate. You do not need to worry since it won't delete any of your app's transactions.

 Here's how:

  1. On your homepage, touch and hold the QuickBooks app.
  2. Click Remove, then tap the Delete App to confirm.
  3. Install the app again.
  4. Then re-assign the transaction to your cost of sale to verify if it's already performing well.

If all the troubleshooting steps didn't work, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. One of our agents will investigate this further and provide additional troubleshooting steps to get this fixed. They can also create an investigation ticket if other users are experiencing the same. To reach them, please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the QBO app and click the three dots on the upper right pane.
  2. Select Help, then Support
  3. Complete the required information and submit the request.

Ensure to call them within business hours to ensure a swift response.

Lastly, you can bookmark these articles below to know the different features available and compatible browsers on your device:

If you have any questions about the program, drop me a line. I'd be happy to help you with anything related to QuickBooks. Keep safe.

Billable Time

Thanks for getting back in this thread, @Cathy28601.

Before we proceed to the resolution, May I ask how they entered the billable time? You can also attach a screenshot. This way, I'll be able to see the situation and provide a suitable solution to your query.

I'd also like to confirm what subscription you're using. Is it QuickBooks Online (QBO)? Or QuickBooks Time? Any additional information is greatly appreciated.

Feel free to get back to me here in the Community space anytime. I'll ensure you can get through this. Take care, and have a nice day!

QBO Plus

Was able to have TIME turned off by support.  Just wanted to use the original time tracking that is a part of QBO Plus. Just tested out in the sample file and works great.  Not sure what is going on with the clients' accounts.

Billable Time

I appreciate all the updates you've been sharing with us, Cathy28601.

It looks like QBO is still recognizing that there's a QuickBooks Time subscription that's linked to this account. Let's go to your company settings and select the Basic Time tracking option. This will let you track time entries without having a QuickBooks Time subscription.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Proceed to the Time tab.
  3. Select the Stick with basic time option.

Once done, go back to the + New button and select Weekly timesheet or Single time activity. Then, make sure to check the Billable box so it would show up when creating an invoice.
