I have made a change in my budget but my reports are not reflecting the change. When I go back into the budget, it shows the changes I made. Is there a step I am missing to get the reports to reflect the new budget numbers?
I can provide the step so you can see the changes you've made on your budget, joyjensen.
You have two options on how to make sure the new budget numbers will reflect on your report. And, I'm glad to walk you through on how to accomplish this.
You need to open both the Set Up Budgets and the report. If you select Save after entering new numbers, you need to click the Refresh button on the report. The changes will then reflect in the report.
If you select OK, it will automatically reflect on the report.
If these don't work, your budget data could be damage. You can run the verify and rebuild feature to fix the issue. After that, you can perform again the steps I've provided above.
I've added the Create a budget or forecast in QuickBooks Desktop to help you plan for your business.
Stay in touch with me on how this goes by commenting below. Just tag my name, and I'll be around until the new budget numbers will reflect on the report.
Thanks. I had already updated the budget and it doesn't show in the reports. I ran the verify data and it said there are no errors. So, I'm not sure what to do now to try and get those budget numbers to update. It's frustrating because they are correct where you enter the budget, they just won't change in the reports that I run for budgets. Any other ideas?
Hello again, @joyjensen.
Thank you for keeping us updated about the outcome when trying the steps above. Running the Verify and Rebuild utility tool usually resolves this since it detects any issues in your company file and corrects them. Before running the tool, let's ensure that QuickBooks is updated to the latest release.
Once done, close and re-open QuickBooks and run the report. Check to see if it works. If the issue persists, proceed on Step 2 found in this article: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
Keep me posted if there's anything else that you need in QuickBooks. I'll be around to provide further assistance. Have a great day.
