The option to change change a name type from anything such as vendor to employee isn't available in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
There are two options available if you need to change a name type.
Option one, delete the vendor name and recreate it as an employee. This works if no transactions exist for the name. Here's how to delete it:
Option two, make the vendor name inactive and add a new employee in QuickBooks. Use this option if there are transactions associated with the name. Before taking these steps, I'd suggest getting in touch with your accountant. They can provide you the right info to ensure your books is accurate.
For more info, you can check out this article: Change vendor, customer or employee name type.
After creating a new employee, you can now create and run your payroll.
Use this thread to reply if you have other concerns with QBO. I'll help you out again in other processes in the program.
Hope you’re doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about changing from vendor to employee name concern you had yesterday. Was it resolved? Do you need any additional help or clarification?
If you do, just let me know. I’d be happy to help you at anytime.
Looking forward to your reply. Have a pleasant day ahead!
