Can I e-file my 1099 with the IRS and still mail out my 1099s to my contractors/vendors? My vendors do not have email addresses attached in Quickbooks.

I don't want to mail the 1099 forms to the IRS but I would like to be able to mail my contractors (there are less than 25), as we are a small business and do not use email to communicate.

After e-filing your 1099s, you can print copies of them. The printed documents can then be mailed to contractors/vendors.

Here's how to print an e-filed 1099:

  1. In your left navigation bar, go to Taxes.
  2. Click 1099 filings.
  3. Find a 1099 you want to print.
  4. Select its View 1099 option to view a PDF.
  5. While viewing it, use the available options to print a copy.

If you don't see an archived or previously filed 1099, you'll need to get in touch with our Customer Care team and request a copy of it.

I've also included a couple detailed resources about working with 1099s which may come in handy moving forward:
